Terminal Block

Trial animation 1:: For this trial animation I created like a boiling effect with the rubbed out patterns from the different sides of the terminal block while also doing a zoom in and out of the camera to create a transition effect. I really did not like this test as I was just playing around with the camera movement and just trusting my gut. However this mistake can be used as a reference on what not to do on other tests, but if I can elaborate on this test I would’ve made the camera move in an interesting way to capture the audience.

Trial Animation 2:: For this trial animation I was going for more of a rhythmic effect by making the camera move back and forth to the rubbed out patterns of the different sides of the terminal block. Overall, I really liked this test compared to the first one as even though they are both done by trusting my gut this test feels more thought out, I also like how the rubbed out patterns change into one another without using zoom ins and outs but I do feel that the transitions are a bit choppy at some parts of the animation.

7 images that I have selected that I feel connects with my project in some way

Intuition narrative sequence:: For this task I have to use my intuition to select 5 tiles from the 7 series of images that we cut out and arrange them into a narrative sequence. I decided to go with these 5 images to create a dystopian narrative where the first image can be interpreted as a virus and then for the second picture it can be the death or the after effects of the virus which then leads to image 3 and 4 which can represent the world without humans can lead into abandonment of buildings and decay and the 5th image can be represented as a wasteland with no trees and plants as an after effects of the virus which can take out the life of living things.

Random tiles narrative sequence:: For this task I have to select 5 tiles from the 7 series of images that we cut out and arrange them into a narrative sequence. I decided to go with these 5 images to create a story about the evolution of life where the first image can represent the world where it’s barren then the second image can be where there’s vegetation started to grow which can lead to the evolution and extinction of dinosaurs which represents the third image then for the fourth image it can be the start of human life as the image is a human cell which then lead to the fifth image which can represent the evolution of humanities input to nature with the representation of buildings becoming more prominent than pure nature.

Own Strategy Tiles:: For this task I have to select 5 tiles from the 7 series of images that we cut out and arrange them into a narrative sequence by inventing and applying my own rules for the selection. I decided to go with these 5 tiles as in my opinion they fall under the category of a place as well as landscape.

For this animation I was tasked to create a short hand drawn animated test that is suppose to loop back to a square which was the first frame. I decided to do a transformation animated sequence of the square turning into a liquid form as it splashes to the ground then transforming into a fish which splashes to form back into the square.

I decided to go with this idea as I was really inspired by the fluidity of water and I was willing to try and animate it. However, when I finished animating this sequence half way through (when the droplet splashes to the ground) at first I don’t know how to link it back. At first I was just about to make the box drop from the top but then the idea of a fish jumping out of the water came into my mind which I felt was the right thing to do as it gives the animation an element of surprise and I also think it was fitting as the fish emerged where the water also splashed.

I think this test will help me develop my work further as well as for my final outcome as I was thinking of doing something along the lines of this idea.
